The historic Bears Inn Bed and Breakfast has continuously operated as a lodging facility since it’s construction in 1928, with its quality and superior service recently recognized by the 2006 “Award of Excellence” presented by the Bed and Breakfast Innkeepers of Colorado. The rustically elegant decor, gorgeous views and warm hospitality will make you feel instantly welcomed and relaxed.

There are eleven uniquely appointed guest rooms; each with private baths, cable TV, in-room telephones, high speed internet access, and thick, luxurious robes. A cozy two-bedroom cabin complete with full kitchen and all the comforts of home is also available.

A romantic, gourmet candlelight breakfast is served each morning in the Great Room or you may choose to dine out on one of our lovely decks, warmed by the gas log campfires and take in the incredible continental divide views.

Innkeeper, Vicki Bock, has made extensive upgrades and improvements since she purchased the property in 2002. Some of the most recent improvements are a beautiful waterfall and a flagstone patio behind the Inn. The Inn now has three levels of patios and a garden. Private decks were added to the Garden and Safari rooms. Summer breakfasts are served on the large covered deck. Her attention to detail is evident throughout. Vicki, an experienced world traveler and successful career woman, has added a flare of elegance to the existing Inn by sharing her love for antiques and treasures from around the world. Whether soaking in the outdoor hot tub, enjoying the beautiful Rocky Mountain views, or lounging in the Great Room in front of the original rock fireplace, one thing is for certain at the Bears Inn: you can relax, reflect and enjoy life.

Our reservation and cancellation policy:

An advance deposit of 1/2 the total bill guarantees your reservation.
If cancellation occurs more than 30 days before your reserved date, your deposit will be refunded MINUS the $25 cancellation fee.
If a cancellation is made between 30 and 3 days of your reserved date, the Bears Inn will retain your deposit, but your deposit can be applied toward a future stay or gift certificate.
If a reservation is canceled within 3 days of the reserved date, your deposit is forfeited. Group reservations must be canceled 90 days in advance of the reserved date to receive a refund of your deposit, MINUS a $100 cancellation fee.

"Thank you, Vicki! The breakfasts were amazing! After two nights at the beautiful, historic Brown Palace In Denver we arrived at the Bears Inn for New Years weekend. From the various themed rooms we had chosen the Honeymoon Suite for two nights. Vicki, the proprietor, exchanged cheerful emails with me to make arrangements, and we were warmly greeted upon arrival. Our sitting room had a comfortable love seat, chairs and table, and a view of Christmas lights in the meadow. The decor of this rustic mountain Inn was charming and perfect for the suite, yet after paying for internet in Denver we were delighted to learn there was free wireless! The old-fashioned clawfoot tub/shower was equipped with three shower heads, and two cozy bathrobes hung in the closet. The bed was luxuriously comfortable, with views of the meadow and snow-capped Mt. Evans beyond. Afternoon snacks, the coffee and tea buffet, guest refrigerators, wine glasses and openers helped make relaxing together by the fireplace just perfect. The most welcome surprise was the breakfast; Vicki and her staff served epicurean delights! A welcome relief from usual carbohydrate-laden business hotel breakfast buffets. On the first morning we were served coffee at our candlelit table, followed by eggs with the most delicious brown sugar-sesame glazed bacon, quinoa, and other treats. On our final morning we feasted on poached eggs with Welsh rarebit sauce over whole grain toast, crispy sausages, and the freshest berries and fruit with yogurt and pomegranate seeds, beautifully served in crystal. Yet despite the elegance of the meal, the atmosphere was comfortable and cozy, with the fire crackling nearby. This was our first visit to Bears Inn, and it was a warm home away from home!
